I was lucky enough to get a place in the ballot. I was originally intending to do the ride without looking for sponsorship as I was also going to be doing a big charity event with my work in the Autumn but that's been postponed until next year. That gives me the opportunity to raise some funds without feeling like I'm pestering people too often. I think I'm going to go independently with Allergy UK as one of my sons has a nut allergy and I'm keen to promote the cause.
For the record, the flak that some people have received on various forums when advertising charity places is uncalled for and, in many cases, sour grapes.
