It’s the Giro and time for some Italian style challenges. With the race hotting up, we’ve now decided to bring you not one, but TWO May challenges. The rules are simple – you can join one challenge or you can join them both – it’s up to you. Here’s a link to the separate Maglia Azzurra Challenge.
This year the Giro D’Italia is 3,403 km (2,115 miles) in length with 21 stages. The longest stage is 244 km (151 miles), the average 162 km (101 miles). The total amount of categorized climbing is 43,551 metres including the iconic 2,645 metre climb of the Galibier.
All riders who log more than 21 rides in May will be entered into the main prize draw to win a box full of cycling goodies including an exclusive Maglia Rosa BikeRadar Challenge t-shirt.
Everyone who either logs more than 211 miles - a 10th of the Giro distance – or records an individual ride longer than 101 miles (162 km) – the average stage length in this year's Giro - will also be entered into a draw to win exclusive Maglia Rosa BikeRadar Challenge t-shirts.
The three individual rides that are longer than 151 miles (244 km) - the longest stage length in this year's Giro also win a Maglia Rosa BikeRadar Challenge t-shirt.
